Subject(s): DDC classification:
  • 746.92 SMI
Summary: For the photographs, we have used sewing threads of a contrast colour to the fabric in order for the stitching to be visible. I recommend that you use a thread that matches your fabric as closely as possible. All techniques and projects are graded by difficulty level, from for the simple and straightforward to for the more complex and challenging ones. The visual directories at the start of each chapter show what the techniques within may be used for. They also show you the construction of the technique, with red dashed lines to indicate top-stitching and grey dotted lines to help you understand the structure beneath the fabric. The fabric quantity given for each project is the minimum needed. If using fabric with a large-scale or directional pattern, you may need to buy extra to make sure the pattern works well on the finished item.
